What’s Confirmed For 2027

Honda has reengineered the Passport TrailSport’s suspension system, redesigning nearly 70% of the major suspension components. Springs, dampers, control arms, stabilizer bars, and knuckles are new, along with redesigned rear driveshafts and a front subframe to support the added ride height and wheel travel. In total, 28 suspension and chassis parts are new or reengineered for 2027.

The result is 245 mm of ground clearance, an increase of 35 mm over the previous model year, along with improved approach, departure, and breakover angles. Ground clearance now exceeds several key rivals in the segment, according to Honda, including the Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium, Subaru Outback Wilderness, and Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch.

Honda engineers didn’t stop at off-road geometry. Steering feel and response have also been tuned, so the daily commute benefits from the same suspension work that unlocks the trail capability.

The 2027 Passport TrailSport lineup includes three trims: TrailSport, TrailSport Touring, and TrailSport Elite. All three share the reengineered suspension and the powertrain, but feature availability and styling touches shift as you move up.

The TrailWatch camera system, with front, rear, side, and 360-degree views plus tire placement graphics, was previously reserved for the top TrailSport Touring trim.
